Everyone playing should have one goal. To win a championship (or two)! It pays $1000 and there will be six opportunities to win this puppy. Just think, one every 6 races. If you win your division, you'll get a check, for sure. But nowhere near the $1000 the segment champ gets. Yeppir, you want to be thinking 'Big Dawg' all the way on this one.

All other prizes are 'fill in' prizes and meant to keep your interest in the league when you're not running your best. For example, if you fall behind early, keep digging for the race win in your division. Win just one of these and it will cover your entry fee for the segment. Then, when the next segment starts, go out there and kick a little booty!

1) 'Race Winner'... is awarded every race, in EVERY division. Score the most points for the race and you win! This payout fetches $20. As per the rules, in the event of a tie in your division, winning teams will split the money equally.

2) 'Division Winner'... is awarded every 6 races to the team that finishes first in their division. A league with 250 teams yields 10 divisions, so we'd have 10 winners. Win this prize and you could be bringing home $100, plus any money you pick up from race wins. In 2007, Division Winners received $100. As we get closer to the Daytona 500, I will determine the amount that will be paid to our 2008 Division Winners. The amount will be based on participation in the league. As long as we're over 200 teams, it will remain $100. Should participation drop below 200 teams, this prize may reduced to an amount less than $100.

3) 'Jersey Joe'... was a CONDITIONAL prize last year, and remains so for 2008. (I came up with this one in 2005 after 'V-Lane Jersey Joe' managed to finish the first segment under the most bizarre of circumstances by finishing very high in the standings but winning absolutely no money.) To pick up a 'JJ', you have to finish 2nd in your division. You have to finish in the top ten among EVERY team in the league. You must complete the segment without winning ANY money. Zero, nadda, zip. Pull that off and Pup throws ya $50.

4) 'Championship Winner'... is awarded every 6 races to the team that accumulates the most points among every team in the league (an estimated 250 teams), not just your division. This prize fetches $1000, but could INCREASE once the total number of teams hits 275. The best part? You have as many as six chances to win this puppy.
