STARTED IN 2004, THE TRADITION CONTINUES...
When the league began in 1998, there were no prizes awarded to the team or teams that scored the most points for ALL the races on the schedule. Now it's
the single highest cash prize awarded each year!
There's something you need to know. Not everyone is eligible for the 'OCC' because it's optional. You have to chip in a little extra moolah to be in the running for this 'piggy back' contest.
Everybody has a budget. For some, $100 a year is plenty to go fantasy racing.
Then you have those diehard racefans who feel an extra $25 is not gonna break the bank.
Especially if it means you're competing with a select few for a very nice prize fund.
With three years of history to call on, it's gone like this:
'Pack 1 Racing' took the $1000
top prize in 2004 (80 teams) in the final race of the year. 'Fast1zwin2a' was our top team in 2005 (110 teams)
and received $1500, also determined in the final race.
In 2006 (134 teams), we set another record for the biggest check to
a single team. 'Going Limp Without 6' picked up $2000 for their efforts. And yes, the winner was determined in
the final race at Homestead. Are you getting the idea that these OCC contests are close? THEY ARE!
Here's how this works...
The cost is $25 per team. This is in addition to the $100 entry fee.
Payment must be received by Sat., Feb 24th (before California race).
Pup takes roughly 5% of the pot to cover expenses, pays out 95%!
With less than 40 teams, one check to overall champ (95% of the pot).
The 'Prize Fund' amount in the table reflects the 5% deduction.
