The first thing you need to know is this: Private Groups have NOTHING to do with NOJIVE25 groups (commonly referred to as 'divisions'). The Pup determines how NJ25 Divisions are formed. YOU determine how private groups are formed.
Sure, winning moolah from the Pup is cool. But don't you really play these fantasy games so you can rib your friends on Monday morning? This feature allows you to do just that! All you need is your PitPupID and Password, the very ones YOU created when registering.
You see, as we move from segment to segment, you may find yourself in the same division with teams you know, you may not! (The finishing order of the previous segment dictates your new division for the next one.) By creating a group, you can always view teams, cool stats, results and standings for only the teams you include, regardless of their 'official' divisions.
Here's the scoop. Get together with your friends and agree on a common 'group code'. It must be between 8-20 characters. It should consist of letters and numbers. The only punctuation allowed will be: ! - _ (exclamation point, dash, and underscore). Some good examples: Terry5Labonte44, Rudd_21_Fans, Man-In-Black3, Dodge!Returns. Bad examples: Intimidator, GoJeffGordon, RuddFans, NASCAR. These are too common.
If two groups intending to be 'private' unknowningly agree on the same code, they will be surprised to see their groups have accidently merged! There is no harm if this happens but the members of one or both groups would find it necessary to revisit this page and change their codes to get their groups separated. Pup's advice? Make it funky, but not impossible!
What if someone you invited comes to this page and registers with your group but they fail to show up with the rest of your gang? Well, that probably means they didn't enter the code correctly. Give them a boot in the rear (remind them what the code is). Have them return to this page and try again. Hopefully, they'll have success on their second attempt.
