Here you go! All of Pup's dirty little secrets. Knock yourself out. Just remember to hit the lights on your way out. If you're on the fence about joining, hope this helps! You can click on any question or simply page down to read them all (you poor devil).

  1. Who is the 'Pup', anyway? (Who is Stan Yedlowski)
  2. What is a 'pit pup'?
  3. Why did you start this league, and when?
  4. Most leagues break the schedule into two or three 'seasons'. Why six?

  1. Who is the 'Pup', anyway? -- Just a regular guy, 49 years young, originally from Alexandria, Virginia. I relocated to New Jersey in 1986 (It's OK y'all, I'm in 'South' Jersey!) I served in the Navy aboard the helicopter carrier USS Inchon LPH-12 from 1977-1980. I have a son, Kyle, a graduate of Lenape HS, and has had his license for some time now. You've been warned. My better half's name is Ellen Marie but on race day we call her Ellie Maye, what else? Top

  2. What is a 'pit pup'? -- The actual term is 'pitpuppy' and it's someone who goes to races and hangs out in the pits so they can rub shoulders with the real race teams in an effort to be cool. In other words, a 'wannabe'! Top

  3. Why did you start this league, and when? -- We ran our first race on October 11, 1998. It was the fall race at Talladega and we had 5 members. I knew none of them. One guy lived in Sweden! My reasons were simple. Every fantasy league I joined bored the dog doody out of me. Did you ever start that first race with a low score? Then you know how I felt: no shot! So I said to myself, 'How can I fix this?' Surely I could marry my love of NASCAR with my programming abilities??!! So I jumped right in. Early versions were crude, but it started to come together. Now it appears we're the best kept secret on the web. We're small, but we're awesome! Top

  4. Most leagues break the schedule into two or three 'segments'. Why six? -- While the Pup likes to see you race for the win on Sunday, many players feel they need to win the overall 'Championship' or they view themselves as failures! With great prizes being rewarded along the way, you are encouraged to give every race equal attention, even if your first race ends ugly! Still, for those who aspire to be the Big Kahuna at the end of the segment, you won't have to wait long should you get off on the wrong paw, er, foot. With 18 races in a segment it would seem like an eternity before the next one starts. That's why our longest segment is 6 races. Flub up? No problem. There's always another one just around the corner! Top
